A Red Hot Summer for Salmo!

As we enter the summer fishing season, there is little doubt that Salmo lures are gaining a reputation for out-fishing any other crankbait on the water today! This fact was again proven by Keith Pierson and his partner Scott Steckler of Devils Lake, North Dakota who won the Pro-Team Walleye Circuit event in Mobridge, SD last week. They used a Salmo Perch 8 DR to take home $12,500.00, nice catch guys!

Steve SkauĀ of La Crosse, Wisconsin has won 3 consecutive Wednesday night big fish tournaments in a row, using a Hornet #5 in Yellow Dace. These events are sponsored by the ACE Hardware in Lacrosse, WI. In ten years of hosting this event, nobody has ever won three Wednesday night events, let alone three in a roll. Last week Skau took top honors with a monster, 9 pound Mississippi walleye. Great going Steve!

As you read this newsletter, Salmo Pro Jim Moynagh has just completed his run at the FLW Angler of the Year award. After two days of fishing in New York, Jim came in only four pounds short of winning, and ended up in second. Jim fishes hard and works closely with Salmo to improve and develop lures that flat-out catch more fish. Jim's next stop in the FLW Tournament of Champions this August. Congratulations Jim on a great run, we're glad he's on the Salmo team.

Salmo is going to Las Vegas!

Every summer, the fishing tackle industry gets together for a big trade show event called ICAST. This is where over 700 fishing tackle related companies gather to present their new products for 2007. Salmo will be there in full force to support our skyrocketing growth and to show the world their exciting new products. We can't tell you here what these new products are, since they will be revealed to the world at a big press conference held at ICAST on July 19, at 10:00 AM.

Hardest working crankbait in America!

That is what everyone is saying about the Salmo Hornet. Sales have increased 300% from last year. Earlier this season, Salmo-USA actually had to ration the number of Salmo Hornets being shipped. It made quite a stir. Distributors and Retailers simply did not understand the time it takes to build a Hornet. Salmo-Poland was not willing to change the way they make lures simply because they received a huge rush order from the USA. Salmo-USA acted quickly to begin the rationing program so everyone got a taste of the success of the Hornet. The best news is that Salmo Poland has caught up with orders and is working round-the-clock to make all ship dates. By this Fall, Salmo Poland should be ready to shift production to their new facility which will increase their production capability to handle the rapid growth in Salmo-USA sales.

Muskies are in love with Salmo!

Muskie fishing Legend Jim Saric knows first hand just how effective the Salmo family of muskie baits are. Jim has already begun production on Muskie Hunter TV for the 2007 season. Live action footage of two 45 inchers eating the Maas Marauder Jr. on camera will surely send anglers running to buy this great lure. The Maas Marauder was designed by Hall of Fame Angler, Al Maas of Walker Minnesota. This topwater lure has quickly become the #1 selling muskie lure in the Salmo, big bait line-up. Cabela's currently has an exclusive on the Maas Marauder Jr., a smaller version of the original. It is available at most of their retail locations and via the internet at http://www.cabelas.com . There is little doubt that as the 2007 lure season begins next month, you will be seeing the Marauder Jr. everywhere!

Topwater at any time for muskies!

One of the biggest misconceptions angles have is that muskies will not strike topwater lures until August Jim Saric has been keeping it a secret, but when he catches two 25 pound fish in 30 minutes using a Maas Marauder in April, it won't take long for muskie anglers to figure it out there is no better time to throw topwater Salmo lures than right now!

Big catches and big wins!

As we approach the peak of the fishing season, Salmo-USA invites you to send us your photos and stories. We often get to publish them in several outdoor magazines and newspapers, but we also put you up on the Salmo-USA Wall of Fame. A place where visitors can visit the Salmo-USA operation and read about the success of other fishermen. To date, we have over 500 photos and stories on Salmo success, so please keep them coming!

Good fishing to one and all from Salmo-USA!
